Tips to Prepare for Your Bridal Boudoir Session

Nervous? Don't be! This will be an amazing experience for you. We want to make sure that you have flawless and beautiful images. Whether this is a gift for you or for your future husband, these tips will make you feel more confident and radiate with a glow the day of your photoshoot.

Five Days Before Your Shoot…

Let's talk about hair.

  • Make sure your eyebrows are nicely shaped and groomed.

  • If you wax, you'll want to do so a few days before your shoot to avoid any redness or bumpiness on the skin.

  • If you’re planning to color or cut your hair, give yourself a few days to make sure you are happy with the new changes.

Nails and Skin

  • Be sure to get a salon manicure and pedicure for a flawless finish.

  • Avoid the sun – while a base tan will be nice in photos, red, blotchy skin will not. PLEASE – DO NOT SPRAY TAN. If you want to have achieve a natural tan, you can use this tanning lotion 3 days prior to the shoot and Stay Hydrated!

  • Drink plenty of water for luminous skin.

  • Avoid or lower your salt intake and avoid alcohol if you’re worried about retaining water.

  • Use hydration mask for glowing skin

  • Try on your outfits and lingerie to make sure they fit properly. Steam or iron your clothing if necessary and hang them properly so they keep their shape as you travel to the location.

  • If you want to feel more comfortable, you can purchase nude nipple covers pasties. (check my Instagram link for photoshoot essentials)

The Day Before Your Shoot…

  • Bathe, shave and moisturize.

  • Remove ALL price tags, size & care labels, from clothing. They can ruin the look of your photos.

  • Make sure everything is packed and ready for the shoot: hair spray, clothing, heels, jewelry, accessories, props. etc...

  • Allow yourself plenty of time to get to the location without stressing.

Enjoy a relaxed, quiet evening.

Plan for a good night’s sleep – eight hours is ideal.

The Day of Your Shoot...

  • If you plan to do professional make-up, schedule your appointment about 2.5 hours prior to your appointment. Avoid sunblock so that the skin does not appear shiny. Use camera-ready makeup. PLEASE – DO NOT SPRAY TAN or Tanning lotions.

  • Use clear deodorant

  • Wear loose-fitting clothing to your session to avoid red marks on your skin.

  • Eat something light but filling before you leave the house.

Take a deep breath and RELAX. It’s completely normal to feel a bit nervous before your shoot, you should not worry because you will be in very good hands. Louis Romo Photography and the team are here for you! We will show you exactly how to pose and work with you to get the perfect shot.
